About me
Kate Gallagher is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in the Lehigh Valley, PA area. Kate is also licensed and able to virtually see clients who live in Rhode Island, Illinois, and Michigan. Kate works with older teens and adults across the lifespan, with a focus on individuals and couples. Many of Kate’s clients have struggled in relationships and with confidence and anxiety. These struggles are often rooted in trauma and/or difficult family relationships. Kate is particularly sensitive to clients who have experienced sexual trauma, and to couples who have struggled with intimacy, communication, and infidelity.
Kate’s approach to therapy is rooted in the Humanistic Therapy approach of fostering an empathic, safe, and non-judgmental environment. This is layered with other evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Therapy, and EMDR. Treatment is tailored based on each client/couple’s needs and comfort levels.
Kate is committed to helping her clients experience real progress, so that their lives and relationships are positively impacted by the therapeutic progress in meaningful and sustained ways. Kate sees her clients as the experts in knowing what they want to accomplish in therapy and works with them to achieve this.
Kate is able to see clients virtually, as well as in person in her Center Valley, PA office.
